With President Trump’s sentencing coming next month in the sham trial in New York, last week I conjured up how Trump’s ‘Letter from the Rikers Island Jail” might read, which our friends at RealClearPolitics enthusiastically posted on Wednesday. Dear Losers and Haters:
While confined here in the Rikers Island Jail, I came across your recent Statement calling my past and present activities “extreme,” “reckless” and a “threat to democracy.” Always do I leap to point out what losers you all are! If I didn’t answer all of the attacks thrown my way, my secretaries and staff would have little to do, and Truth Social would go broke. But since you are all such complete haters I wouldn’t want to pass up the chance to remind everyone again. Sad!
I think I should indicate again why I am here in New York—which I made Great in the 1980s by the way, and will again in November, as my recent rallies in the Bronx and Harlem have shown! I have the honor of leading the MAGA movement, even though I live in Florida now (though New York is surely going to indict me for tax evasion). Just as I reminded Liberty University in 2016 about how the Two Corinthians walk into a bar to say . . . something—I don’t quite remember, but I am sure it was very Great—so too I am compelled to spread the MAGA message to the inner boroughs of the Big Apple (which I made Big back in the 1980s by the way).
Moreover, I know all the communities and states. I cannot sit by in Mar-a-Lago and not be concerned about what happens in New York. I am not an “outside agitator.” I am an INSIDE AGITATOR! Everything is connected to everything else, as I think I heard some Amway salesman say one time. I am in New York because Failure is here, and Failure anywhere is a threat to Greatness everywhere.
You deplore my rallies in Brooklyn, the Jersey shore, in the Bronx and in Harlem, but you created the Conditions that inspire people to see me—people you talk about but totally ignore. Sad! I think it was Don King who wrote “I am sure that none of you would want to rest content with the superficial kind of social analysis that deals merely with effects and does not grapple with underlying causes.”
You express a great deal of Anxiety over my willingness to break “Norms.” Incredible, coming from people who Violate legal Norms every day. One may well ask: “How can you advocate breaking some norms and obeying others?” The answer lies that there are two types of norms: norms that favor all the people, and “norms” that favor Democrats. I agree with St. Augustine—whose city in north Florida is really great; I’m hoping to do some deals with him—that an unjust Norm is no Norm at all.
And I agree with Tommy Aquinas—who is doing really Great Things these days; in fact I tried to I hire him for Atlantic City—that an unjust Norm is a Norm not rooted in natural things or sound real estate values. The corrupt judges and prosecutors have bent the positive norms to punish me for a Natural Act! Some Buber guy—what a dumb name—says I committed an “I-it” relationship with someone, which I totally didn’t, but if I did it would have been a “I-thou” relationship, I can tell you that!
I’ve heard that a law can be unjust. I have been tried on the charge of not having as many bank accounts and LLCs as the Biden family, and for leading Sleepy Joe in the polls. It’s just one more example of how the powerful make and use laws that they don’t apply to themselves. Well maybe to Hunter Biden, but we’ll have to see what happens.
I must make two honest confessions to you, my MAGA brothers and sisters. First, over the last decade I have been very disappointed with the Republican moderates. They are worse than woke liberals! They prefer “order” to the Change we need. I had hoped that the Republican moderate would understand that the present tension in the country is a necessary phase in the Transition from an obnoxious wokeness back to a Great Country again. All I did was bring to the surface the hidden tension that everyone except the Fake News media knows about. We merely bring to the surface the hidden tension that is already alive. We bring it out in the open, where it can be seen and dealt with. Like an Open Border allowing an Invasion of the country.
Second, the Republican moderate thinks that Time corrects all things, that the pendulum will swing back to Normalcy. But things never go back to Normal. Oppressed Americans cannot be oppressed forever. I do not say to the MAGA faithful, “put away your discontent.” Rather, I have channeled the discontent of the People so that the country doesn’t fall apart. The Republican moderate can’t get his Mittens around that!
Though I was disappointed at being categorized as an Extremist, as I continued to think about the matter I gained a level of satisfaction from the label. Jesus was an extremist for love. So the question is not whether we will be Extremists, but what kind of Extremists we will be. Will we be like the Democrat Extremists for division into endless separate groups with angry demands against all the others, or Extremists for One America, with a common citizenship? Perhaps the nation and the world are in dire need of creative extremists. I think some Goldwater guy (Great Name, by the way—I’ll want to put him in my Cabinet) said something like this once.
I had hoped that Republican moderates, and even some liberals and the Fake News media, would see this need. I suppose I should have realized that very few of the comfortable Uniparty can understand the deep anger of Americans. Perhaps I was too optimistic, because the Establishment is too bound up with the Status Quo to save our nation and our world.
Never before have I written so long a letter. I can assure you the Truth Social version will be much shorter! But Rikers Island won’t let me have my (very very extremely great) smart phone! Sad!
