J.D. Vance found his airplane on the same tarmac as Kamala Harris’s plane in Wisconsin. She apparently was nowhere to be seen, so Vance walked over to the reporters who evidently were waiting for her to disembark, and engaged with them:
Incredible move by JD Vance…
Vance and Harris both landed on the same tarmac in Wisconsin. He went over to reporters covering AF2 and talked because he knew Kamala wouldn’t.

A nice idea by Vance, to make a worthwhile point. But–this is just a vibe–I didn’t get the sense that the reporters responded to Vance’s overture in a positive way. Their reaction struck me as frosty. One might think that they would be offended by a presidential candidate who is afraid to talk to them, but I have not seen any indication that this is the case. I suppose reporters think their job is to try to elect Kamala Harris, and if she won’t talk to them, it only makes the job easier.
I don’t know what the sequel was. Did Harris eventually emerge and talk to the reporters? Not that I know of. Did any reporters write about her elusiveness, and try to hold her to account?
Just kidding.
