If, in the upcoming election, everyone voted rationally on the issues, the election wouldn’t be close. Donald Trump would win in a landslide. But of course that isn’t what will happen. Some voters will act out of self-interest–a $6 trillion+ budget buys a lot of votes–and many of the rest, likely most, will act on emotion or on vague impressions they have gained from the news.
The Democrats have been smearing Trump non-stop for years, but emotional appeals are not necessarily lacking on his side. Thus, just in time for the campaign, songwriter Jon Kahn, who I take it is associated in some way with Breitbart, has released this song. It’s called “Fighter”:
“Don’t throw that towel just yet.” Not bad. The Democrats were shocked that their criminal charges against Trump didn’t hurt his popularity. If anything, they may have helped him. One might expect that repeated assassination attempts will also, and to a greater extent, prompt a reaction in his favor. This kind of product can help build that sentiment.
Dinesh D’Souza is also releasing a new, pro-Trump film. He did Trump Card in 2020. I believe that movie pretty much bombed, both because theaters shut down for covid and because after the election, there wasn’t much demand for a Trump film. Hopefully this one will meet a better fate. It is called Vindicating Trump:
It opens September 27.
I don’t know how effective these particular vessels will be, but the Trump campaign should be able to make a powerful video on the same themes. Conservatives always try to run on logic, but we shouldn’t shy away from emotion. Not if we want to win the election.
