Faces of Evil

Hamas has released several more Israeli and Thai prisoners. The prisoner transfer at Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, turned into a chaotic scene as thousands of Gazans crowded around Israeli soldier Arbel Yehoud. She was escorted by heavily armed and masked Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists, but the mob pressed in, screaming and apparently trying to get their hands on her. Following more than a year in captivity, it must have been a terrifying ordeal:

Israel’s government responded by delaying the release of the next batch of Hamas terrorists, and Prime Minister Netanyahu said that the scene reflected the “unimaginable cruelty” of Hamas. There is no arguing with that, but I would say it reflects the unimaginable cruelty of the people of Gaza.

Seeing the large numbers of armed terrorists who sprang out of the shadows when a ceasefire was declared, and the baying mobs of Gazans who regard their agreement with Israel as a great victory, I conclude that Israel’s task is nowhere near complete. And President Trump’s idea of clearing the Gazans out of Gaza and sending them to Egypt and Jordan, while probably not practical since no one wants to take them, would be highly desirable.
