Rep. Ilhan Omar updates financial disclosure form, citing accounting error.

Financial disclosure, accounting error…I’ve already fallen asleep before I get to the first sentence, which reads,

Rep. Ilhan Omar has amended her financial disclosure forms to show she does not have as much money as previously suggested in recent congressional filings.

It’s only later that the Minneanpolis Star Tribune manages to mention the magnitude of the error, only off by some $29,905,000 (or 3,500 %). The paper frames the rest of the story as a “Republicans pounce” piece.

The Star Tribune can now say they “covered” it. In the immortal post from David Burge on Twitter (X),
