The Face of Evil

Luigi Mangione, the Left’s murderous heartthrob, made a court appearance today, as the New York court addressed his lawyer’s motions to exclude evidence. As always, an admiring throng of (mostly) women turned out to support him:

Luigi’s fans don’t want to free him because they think he is innocent, they want to free him because they know he is guilty and approve of his murder.

These people have press credentials, although I don’t suppose they work for respectable publications:

It would be comforting to think that Mangione’s fans are just a few depraved lunatics, but poll data suggest that they speak for a great many Democrats. In polling done shortly after he murdered Brian Thompson, 68% of liberals said they had at least some sympathy for Mangione, and 31% of liberals said they had a lot of sympathy.

Moreover, 35% of liberals said they not only sympathized with Mangione, but specifically supported his decision to murder Thompson. Fourteen percent of liberals described themselves as “very supportive” of the murder.

As I have written before, I think it is increasingly questionable whether we conservatives can continue to share a country with liberals. It saddens me to say it, but there seems to be little basis for any common citizenship. The Left’s demented reaction to Mangione’s cold-blooded murder is one more data point on that question.
