Senator Rand Paul has obtained and transcribed the fallacious Dr. Fauci’s diary over the three-year period December 2019-December 2022. As we all will recall, Fauci served as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) during the period covering the emergence of the Covid epidemic. He was the King of disinformation/misinformation regarding the origin of the virus and in support of the Covid regime. I call it Faucism in one country.
Senator Paul has set up The Reading Room to house documents related to his ongoing investigation into the origins of Covid and risky taxpayer-funded life sciences research. Most recently, he has posted an 1100-page PDF of “Tony’s Diary.”
At the top of “Tony’s Diary” is Paul’s summary, of which this is the opening paragraph:
During his time as NIAID Director, and particularly during the COVID pandemic, Dr. Anthony Fauci took meticulous notes about his work. He made note of conversations, decisions, and his thoughts about actions taken by politicians and other officials. This is his own historical record containing almost-daily entries. Later in the pandemic, he gloried in the positive attention he was receiving from legacy media and demonized those who questioned his official narrative – like me. Many entries in Fauci’s daily historical account completely undermine the official narrative that Fauci and other public health officials espoused.
Paul has posted “Tony’s Diary” in advance of the hearing to be held by the Senate Homeland Security Committee this Wednesday. Fauci is to testify at the hearing. “Tony’s Diary” is a sort of preview of coming attractions. The Hill’s preview of the hearing actually includes this assertion that is long past its expiration date: “Paul has claimed, without substantial evidence, that the virus was developed in the Wuhan Institute of Virology and somehow escaped as an artificially enhanced virus.”
The New York Post covers one element of “Tony’s Diary” in the story “Dr. Fauci’s bizarre fame fixation as COVID deaths mounted revealed in newly released diaries.” Miranda Devine picks up the thread in her Post column “Anthony Fauci was the ‘big head’ of COVID response.”
She observes: “As the global death toll mounted, Fauci’s diary shows he was increasingly preoccupied with his rising media profile and reveling in the admiration, especially the praise from celebrities, all of which he meticulously recorded.” The destructive Dr. Fauci recorded his promotion of the lockdown mania: “I spoke with Bill de Blasio (Mayor – NYC) and convinced him based on what I was saying publicly and my conversation tonight to close the NYC schools. I went on to tell him he should close the bars and restaurants in NYC. He said that he would base this on my recommendation.”
This is the least of Fauci’s crimes against humanity:
Fauci emerges from the diary entries as a frivolous narcissist, possibly corrupt and a really bad speller (for example, “dyswaded” for dissuaded).
Dyswade me here.
NR’s Jim Geraghty picks up another thread of “Tony’s Diary” in the Corner post “Dr. Anthony Fauci, January 2020: ‘Now We Know the Market Was Not the Source, It Was the Amplifier.’” See also Senator Paul’s summary at the top of “Tony’s Diary.”
Look back in anger.
