Was Vicious Attack On Republicans Inspired by Democratic Party?

It is deeply ironic that Democrats are trying to sell the idea that Republicans are somehow violent and unAmerican, when in fact, every actual violent incident is perpetrated by liberals, usually union thugs, against Republicans. It happened again in New Orleans following a fundraiser for the Louisiana Republican Party. Governor Bobby Jindal’s chief fundraiser, Allee Bautsch, left the event with her boyfriend, Joe Brown. They were attacked by a gang that reportedly prefaced their assault with racial and political insults. The attack was extraordinarily vicious:

Assailants knocked down Bautsch and stomped her repeatedly, breaking her leg in five places.
Bautsch’s mother told Fox News on Friday that her daughter was not robbed, but her boyfriend was “after she was screaming on the ground.” …

The boyfriend was left with with a fractured jaw, broken nose and a black eye.
Was this vicious assault prompted by the Democrats’ demagogic attacks on Republicans, or was it just a run-of-the-mill street crime? As yet, we don’t know, and it will be impossible to say until the perpetrators are caught. Still, the lack of curiosity in the mainstream media is notable, as Frank Ross writes at Big Journalism:

The tragedy of the unprovoked attack on Allee Bautsch and Joe Brown in New Orleans recently is intensified by the media’s near-silence on the matter. In another example of its no-enemies-to-the-left mentality, the MSM has gone to ground. Not a word is issued in print condemning the attacks. No reporters are calling members of Congress, the White House or the head of the DNC for comment. No talking heads on television are pulling their chins and wondering if there’s a “climate of hate” loose in the French Quarter.
What we have here is effective MSM news blackout on a vicious, and most likely politically motivated attack. Has the fourth estate falling into such a swoon with the progressive talking points, that they too believe like the attackers that Ms. Bautsch was a “lil blond b*tch” and thus deserved the beating she got?

I think the answer to that question is Yes, given that Ms. Bautsch is a Republican. There is no end to the corruption of the mainstream media and the Democratic Party establishment.

Does the local press in New Orleans not want to dig into the works of local progressives and their propensity for violence? Does the complete lack of fitting the narrative of “right-wing violence” keep the press far from watchdog mode and squarely in lapdog mode?
Here we have a beautiful 26-year-old woman who has pins and screws keeping her leg together. We have her boyfriend with a broken jaw and nose. At what point does the media become a willing accomplice, through its silence and utter lack of curiosity, in these crimes?

Was this crime politically motivated? I don’t know. And we may never know, since no one–not the mainstream media, nor the local authorities who like the reporters are all Democrats–has much incentive to get to the bottom of the crime. What we do know for sure is that if the shoe were on the other foot–if the victims of this vicious beating were Democrats leaving a Barack Obama event–the authorities and the media would never rest until the last stone were turned over.
UPDATE: The Hayride, a New Orleans-based site, offers compelling evidence that the attack was political. While this is not yet certain, and can’t be until the perpetrators are caught, it appears overwhelmingly probable that the assault was committed by a group of far-left “protesters” who earlier tried to attack the chairman of the Louisiana Republican Party. The police report is here. Note the description of the one perpetrator at whom Brown got a good look.
