At the Feeding our Fraud trial: An update

Following up on the adjacent post: Judge Brasel voir dired each of the remaining 17 jurors and alternates in the Feeding Our Fraud trial this morning. None had been contacted by anyone regarding the trial “by anyone, including media,” over the past six weeks. She had lunch brought in for the jury and will order their sequestration during deliberations. She intends to avoid a mistrial resulting from the attempted bribery.

Closing arguments have resumed. As of the lunch break, only one defense closing was left before the government’s rebuttal. Given the jury’s sequestration, I’m sure Judge Brasel will want to instruct them and submit the case as soon as possible, which may well be late this afternoon. After the trial proceedings conclude this afternoon, Judge Brasel will hold a hearing on detention of the defendants through verdict.
