A week after Savanah Hernandez’s close encounter of the violent kind with “suburban dad” Chris Ostroushko, the Star Tribune has finally gotten around to reporting “Whipple protesters accused [sic] of shoving Turning Point commentator on video are under investigation.”

The Star Tribune previously featured Ostroushko in a profile that presented him as a sort of normal “suburban dad.” The Star Tribune loved him along with the rest of the local Resistance to the enforcement of immigration law.
When the Star Tribune reported the assault on Hernandez a week ago, it withheld the names of the four arrested because “The Minnesota Star Tribune does not usually name defendants until they are formally charged.” Today they report the names of the Ostroushkos without further explanation.
That’s not all the Star Tribune has left unexplained. Accoding to today’s story, attorney James Cook advised the family not to talk. The story lacks any quotes from old man Ostroushko. The Star Tribune reporter apparently failed to catch Ostroushko’s appearance on Brian Shapiro’s podcast last week. The New York Post caught it. Ostroushko told Shapiro: “We are absolutely not violent people. In fact, we tend to shy away from it.”
You have to love Ostroushko’s care with language. They aren’t nonviolent. They only “tend to shy away from it.” He should do better than that. I think that means they are violent sometimes.

The father and daughter “have been doxed, fully,“ said Cook, leading to them ”receiving a lot of hate mail” and threats. At least one report surfaced in conservative news outlets that Christopher Ostroushko was convicted in the early 2000s of wrongly receiving thousands of dollars in unemployment benefits.
In this case, “doxed” means identified. Readers won’t know that Ostroushko et al. were identified roughly a week ago on X. The “report” that has “surfaced” in precincts beyond the Star Tribune suggests that Ostroushko is both a thief and a liar.

That January profile constitutes only one installment of the Star Tribune’s incessant campaign in support of illegal immigration. That’s not the way they put it, of course, but that’s what it’s all about.
