Barbara Bush was the guest of honor last night at the annual Ashbrook Center dinner hosted by our friends at No Left Turns. The Cleveland Plain Dealer carries a good account of her talk: “Former first lady shares her war stories.” The story leads with a highlight: “Watching her son George W. Bush lead the country, former first lady Barbara Bush said one thought pops into her head. ‘I can’t help but to wonder if this is the same kid I used to spank,’ she joked last night, speaking to 800 people at Ashland University.”
