I love Tom Wolfe. His incredible early ’70s article “Radical Chic” more or less killed the phenomenon it described. His book The Right Stuff on the first generation of astronauts was a moving, hilarious masterpiece. All his many books and articles are worth reading.
Wolfe is the featured author in the books section of the New York Times Web site this week. The Web page with the links to past Times reviews of several of his books includes a chapter of his recent collection of essays and a link to a current (March 8) interview with Wolfe by John Darnton. Take a look: “Featured author: Tom Wolfe.”
