Democrats Swing and Miss–So Far

Real Clear Politics has collected the latest polls. So far, there is no sign that the daily attack on President Bush by the Democrats in the press has had much effect. The most recent polls were taken between June 3 and June 5. Ipsos-Reid has Bush’s approval rating at 61%, virtually unchanged from the 62% in their last survey. Fox has the President at an astonishing 66%. That doesn’t mean that the “no WMD” mantra is a failure; it normally takes some time for such themes to percolate into the public consciousness. But so far, so good.
Most Power Line readers are aware of Real Clear Politics; many, like us, consider it one of the finest news sources on the net. I think it is fair to say that a day doesn’t go by when at least one of us doesn’t check RCP. The site’s proprietors, John McIntyre and Tom Bevan, are doing a pledge drive kind of like Andrew Sullivan’s to try to raise some money. (I guess they haven’t yet tumbled to the idea of selling boxer shorts.) We plan to contribute, and I hope a lot of our readers will. John and Tom were very helpful to us when we were getting started. They are an important resource and I hope their readers will help them make some money so they can continue advancing the cause.
