I promised to troll for good news on the net today, and frankly it wasn’t easy. But let’s not lose our perspective. In the broader scheme, there is still more to marvel at and to admire than to be outraged by. The photo below, taken by the Hubble telescope, is of the “Sombrero” galaxy. Its scope is unimaginable; it is a good reminder of the limited significance of today’s headlines.
Which is not, of course, to minimize the endless beauty and fascination of our own small planet. The photo below is of a Shanghai couple enjoying a light sculpture called “Impression of Palace” during China’s National Day holiday.
And, a new Miss Universe, from Puerto Rico, has been crowned.
So, no matter your frame of reference, it’s fair to say that there is good news for everyone tonight.
