The new ad for President Bush, which shows John McCain introducing him at a recent campaign event, is available here. It’s well done. Supposedly its release was timed to coincide with John Kerry’s announcement of his Vice-Presidential nominee, the theory being that McCain was Kerry’s first choice. (The title of the ad is “First Choice.”) I doubt, however, that many swing voters will even know that Kerry pursued McCain–the ad doesn’t mention the fact–let alone care.
Still, McCain is very popular with a segment of the electorate that tends to be cool toward the President, and the ad is a good one, emphasizing the President’s main strengths.
