Hugh Hewitt declares “breakout” with respect to John Kerry’s Christmas in Cambodia tall tale by virtue of the publication of Scott Canon’s Kansas City Star story (registration required): “Kerry’s Cambodia links questioned.”
The Minneapolis Star Tribune gives Canon’s story the page-one treatment this morning — “Kerry’s claims of fighting in Cambodia come under question” — but the Star Tribune site buries the story on its home page.
Bill Kristol announced on Fox News this morning that the cover story of the Weekly Standard issue that will be published next weekend is Fred Barnes’s account of Kerry’s Christmas in Cambodia. Thinking like a strategist, Kristol is attempting to shame the mainstream media into covering this story. Stay tuned.
