Actually, it’s not clear that Paul McCartney is an Evertonian. From what I understand, it’s more accurate to say that the Liverpool lad comes from a family of Evertonians but was never very “keen on football” himself. We’ll claim him, nonetheless.
In addition to the family link, it’s my understanding that McCartney is a long-time friend of Bill Kenwrigtht, the owner of Everton and our number one fan. I believe they went to art school together as teen-agers. Kenwright went on to become a theatre impresario. When he bought control of the team, someone asked him whether this was a dream come true. Kenwright answered that his dream had come true years earlier when he first purchased season tickets.
