Has President Bush gone wobbly?

The Jerusalem Post is reporting that U.S. pressure has prompted the delay of Israel’s expanded ground offensive into Lebanon. The Olmert government finally approved the expanded offensive yesterday, and Israel’s troops reportedly were already rolling when they were ordered to halt under “heavy U.S. pressure” to “allow diplomacy to run its course.”

As Rich Lowry says, “the last thing Olmert needs is any more encouragement to delay, agonize, and wobble.” And the last thing this administration should be doing is to impede Israeli action against our common enemey, Hezbollah.
