McCain: $47 Million in August

The McCain campaign says that it raised $47 million in August. Ten million of that came in the three days after Sarah Palin was announced as McCain’s VP choice. That almost matches the $50 million haul that the human ATM, Barack Obama, reeled in in July.

Every Republican candidate for any seriously contested office can expect to be out-spent. But McCain will have enough resources to get his message out and let the campaign be decided on the merits.
