The sum of all fears

Rep. Hank Johnson is the Atlanta Democrat who defeated and replaced the execrable Cynthia McKinney in Congress. He suffers from Hepatitis C, a condition that causes bouts of confusion and difficulty concentrating.
In the video below, Johnson questions Admiral Robert Willard about the Navy’s plans to relocate 8,000 personnel and their families to Guam. Johnson notes at some length that the island is narrow; Johnson reviews the island’s dimensions from its “widest level” to its “smallest level,” “from shore to shore.”
Johnson observes that the island is only seven miles wide at the “least widest place on the island.” Johnson inquires into the island’s total area given its widest and narrowest dimensions. I think we might be missing the necessary variables, but Admiral Willard helps the congressman. He concedes that Guam is a small island.
Johnson then gives voice to his deep fear regarding the Navy’s plans: “My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated it will tip over and capsize.”
Admiral Willard manfully responds: “We don’t anticipate that.” He deserves some kind of decoration for his gentle handling of Rep. Johnson.
Jack M. follows up at Ace of Spades with the journalistic inquiry that is fit unto the day:

I contacted Rep. Hank (D-Goin’ down for the third time) Johnson’s office and asked them if the good Representative had any other fears he wished to share. I was told that Rep. Johnson also fears:
-Future missions to the moon will cause Earth’s satellite to “go all crazy and spin out of orbit”
-Drilling in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge will mean “heavy drilling equipment will cause the poles to shift and Kansas City will end up as the new North Pole”
-Excessive use of the office microwave will cause “the oxygen in the oven to interact with the atmosphere, making it overheat and burn away.”

Jack M. reports that Johnson “voted in favor of Obamacare. He knows better than you about things and stuff.” That’s actually a condition that has reached the proportions of an epidemic in the Democratic Party, and it is entirely unexcused by any mental or physical disability.
