Michelle Malkin blows the whistle on The Council on American-Islamic Relations (“CAIR”), the self-styled Islamic civil liberties group, that (in Malkin’s words), “won’t condemn Muslim fanatics, but has declared war on outspoken Americans who will.” As Malkin demonstrates, CAIR specializes in portraying any criticism of Muslims as bigotry and accomplishes this by “fabricating quotes, taking comments out of context, indulging in the cult of victimology and exploiting a gullibly sympathetic press.” In doing so, it “obfuscates its own suspicious role in fomenting anti-American extremism.” In fact, three former CAIR officials have been indicted on charges of terrorism, money laundering or fraud.
