Jack Kelly at Irish Pennants reports on the possibility that former Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi may be able to patch together a coalition comprised of his moderate Shia party, elements of the more fundamentalist United Iraqi Alliance, and the Kurds that would enable him to form a government. As Kelly says, if true that sounds like good news.
Recall how quick some in the MSM were to declare shortly after the election that fundamentalists with ties to Iran were going to have their way. But then, some in the MSM were claiming in the first days of our invasion (one of the most staggeringly successful military campaigns in modern history) that our troops weren’t making significant progress. For some in the MSM, it isn’t enough incessantly to report only bad news; sometimes it’s necessary to invent it.
