Cecile Bledsoe did not carry 11 of 12 counties in Arkansas’s Third Congressional District in her run-off election against Steve Womack, as I reported yesterday. She carried seven.
Bledsoe did outpoll Womack in the 11 counties, other than Benton, combined. But Womack overwhelmed her in Benton County. His margin there of approximately 3,000 votes was roughly twice his overall margin.
Both Benton and Bledsoe are from Benton County, but I’m told that Womack, as mayor of Rogers, is far better known in that county.
I regret the error.
