Bye-Bye Specter?

Arlen Specter switched parties in a desperate attempt to keep his Senate seat. But voters don’t tend to like party-switchers, and it’s no surprise that current polling shows Specter in trouble in Pennsylvania. Scott Rasmussen finds that Republican Pat Toomey leads Specter by five points:

Democrat Joe Sestak, on the other hand, runs even with Toomey. So the Democrats may decide to throw Specter overboard to try to keep the seat. On balance, Pennsylvanians disapprove of Specter, 52-46 percent. Given his age and familiarity, it’s hard to imagine that judgment changing much between now and 2010.
