Two weeks ago the Democrats were gleeful as President Bush’s approval ratings slid into the mid-60’s. The most recent data collected on Real Clear Politics show his approval rating popping back up, with the CNN/Gallup/USA Today poll conducted on July 29-31 back up to 71%. And this is without any good news either on the economy or in the war. Meanwhile, it looks as though the Congressional approval poll that I blogged on a day or two ago, which showed a sudden and drastic decline in Congress’ approval rating, was a fluke. Two more recent polls have Congress well into positive territory.
