The May issue of Commentary features Victor Davis Hanson’s assessment of the status of the Bush doctrine: “The Bush doctrine’s next test.” Hanson’s essay focuses on the prospective application of the Bush doctrine to Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. (Thanks to reader Malcolm Smordin.)
NOTE: The issue also includes letters from Charles Kesler, Angelo Codevilla and Mark Helprin responding to Norman Podhoretz’s critique of their essays criticizing the Bush doctrine and the Bush administration’s prosecution of the war on terrorism in the Claremont Review of Books. Podhoretz of course responds and gets the last word, at least for the moment. (The letters are available only in PDF; click here.)
