People of the Year

I didn’t watch the CNN show, but Drudge reports that Time’s Man of the Year is everyone. You. So, for everyone who hasn’t yet had his or her 15 minutes: you’re covered.
The idea is that the big phenomenon of 2006 was user-generated content, i.e., blogs, YouTube and MySpace. I think that’s probably right; in fact, I’m slightly gratified that my nomination of the YouTube founders turned out to be the winning choice, sort of.
I do think, though, that if they’re going to do a Phenomenon of the Year award, they should stop calling it Person of the Year.

Go here if you want to comment. So far, most of our readers haven’t been very impressed by Times’s choice.
