Today’s news brings the latest circulation numbers for the six-month period ending in March compared to a year ago at the top 20 newspapers in the United States. Throwing out the Dallas Morning News numbers, which may represent a cumulative decline over an extended period, the Star Tribune comes in the third largest loser in circulation with a one-year decline of 4.9 percent. If the Star Tribune wants to move from third to first in circulation decline, I think making Nick Coleman’s column available four days a week rather than three, or expanding the editorial pages from two to three, might be just the ticket. Hugh Hewitt comments here. (Thanks to reader John Petty.)
