Mayor Rudy Giuliani has announced the formation of a “Justice Advisory Committee” consisting of supporters who are prominent lawyers and judges. It is chaired by former Solicitor General Ted Olson, and includes Miguel Estrada and former Assistant Attorney general Larry Thompson.
This is an extraordinarily impressive group. Giuliani’s intent, no doubt, is to offer further support for his pledge to nominate strict constructionist judges. It would be hard to come up with a group of lawyers and judges that would be more reassuring to conservatives in this regard.
To learn more, go to the Rudy Giuliani section of the Candidates’ Forum, check out this thread, and let the Mayor know what you think.
UPDATE: So far, reaction on the Forum has generally been very positive, as I think it should be.
