Two objects possibly related to Malaysia Airlines flight spotted

Australia’s prime minister Tony Abbott has informed Parliament that two objects possibly related to the missing Malaysia Airlines flight have been spotted on satellite imagery. He has sent an aircraft to the area to try to locate them.

Abbott cautioned that locating these objects will be extremely difficult and “it may turn out that they are not related to the search for flight MH370.” The objects apparently are in the “narrowed down” search region, but that region is still immense, consisting of 117,000 square miles.

Still, the fact that the Australian PM has notified parliament about, and devoted resources to searching for, the two objects suggests that they represent a credible lead in this matter.
