Can Trump Recruit Tulsi Gabbard?

How could Donald Trump’s appointments get even better? He could recruit Tulsi Gabbard as a member of his administration. Gabbard, a Democratic Congresswoman from Hawaii, is an orthodox liberal on domestic policy. She can get away with that, coming from Hawaii. In fact, she supported Bernie Sanders, and nominated him at the Democratic Convention.

But, unlike almost all of her fellow Democrats, Gabbard takes national security seriously. She is a major in the Army National Guard, serves on the House Armed Services Committee, and is knowledgeable about military affairs. Trump says he just wants to get input from a diverse group of people, but there is reason to hope that Tulsi Gabbard could be offered a job in the Defense Department, or possibly State.

This is the kind of bipartisanship we can get behind. Plus, Gabbard is the most accomplished surfer in the Congress:

It’s a long shot, but I would love to see it happen.
