I’m at St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, this week, participating in one of their “Summer Classics” great books seminars, and who should I run into but Bruce Sanborn of St. Paul, Minnesota. Bruce is not only one of the earliest readers of Power Line, but is also the person who is ultimately responsible for my meeting John Hinderaker and Scott Johnson, and hence ultimately becoming a Power Liner!
I’m sure by the end of the week we shall have restored Western Civilization, and fixed the economy, too. Or maybe not. I love this bronze of a sleeping reader in the hallway of the student center. With typical St. John’s outlook, note what book is putting him to sleep:
