It’s Gotta Be the Shoes

Biden’s handlers have equipped him with new shoes sporting a wide sole allegedly “great for stability.” This recalls the famous commercial in which Mars Blackmon (Spike Lee) tells Michael Jordan “it’s gotta be the shoes,” and Monty Python serves up another reference. The masked bandit Dennis Moore (John Cleese) tells victims to “Stand and Deliver,” also the title of the 1988 film with Edward James Olmos as math teacher Jaime Escalante.

As he has demonstrated on numerous occasions, Joe Biden has trouble standing and for all but the willfully blind, he can’t deliver anything but failure. When Conrad Black observed that Biden was a wax-works effigy of a president, he was being kind. Unable to perform basic motor functions, the Delaware Democrat is a wax-works effigy of a human being. When that squad of PBS “presidential historians” looks back at Biden, the show is certain to defy satire.
