The Hinderaker-Ward Experience, Episode 31: On the Radio

For Episode 31, the Hinderaker-Ward Experience returns to its roots on AM radio. On Saturday, Brian Ward and I spent three hours at the KTLK studio in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, broadcasting on AM 1130. Our ace producer, Scott Immergut of Ricochet:

It’s a super size edition of the Hinderaker-Ward Experience (HWX) this week. What was 3 hours of radio last Saturday has been edited down to just over 2 hours of hyper-concentrated podcasting goodness.

John Hinderaker of Power Line and me, Brian Ward, of Fraters Libertas discuss this week’s highlights in the news, including Joe Biden putting y’all back in chains. Think that was just a momentary mental lapse on the esteemed Vice President’s part? Well, we harken back to a similar comment from 2006 from then Senator Hillary Clinton. Orchestrated race baiting or amazing coincidence? You decide.

Then we are joined by Ricochet editor-in-chief Rob Long for a breezy conversation on what it’s like being a conservative in Hollywood, legalized marijuana in the Golden State, his experience writing for and producing Cheers, and his new show on TBS, Sullivan and Son (Thursday nights, 10 pm eastern).

Next John throws out the question of whether even Democrats can be happy with the performance of Barack Obama in the White House and we take many calls from listeners. We also catch up with rising conservative star Tony Hernandez and hear about his campaign for US Congress in Minnesota.

Later, we are joined by Hans Von Spakovsky, author [with John Fund] of the new book Who’s Counting: How Fraudsters and Bureaucrats Put Your Vote at Risk. First we discuss how a guy from Alabama ends up with the name Hans Von Spakovsky. Then we ease into the subject of his book. We focus on the still controversial 300 vote victory by Al Franken for US Senate in Minnesota in 2008 and its associated shennanigans. We also talk about the greatest remedy for voter fraud ever invented, requiring a photo ID at the polling place, and why it is so vehemently opposed by so many on the Left.

Finally, we get to the Loon of the Week, MSNBC’s Toure accusing Mitt Romney of, guess what, racism. Then This Week in Gatekeeping, a group effort featuring a handful of the biggest names in news somehow getting suckered by a guy who wrote a book entitled “Trust Me, I’m Lying.”

Trust me, it’s a fun show!
