Murderers, media, mouthpiece

The Times of Israel reports along with other media outlets that a bus was blown up in central Tel Aviv and 21 were injured today. The Daily Mail story is vague on the responsibility for the attack. The Twitter feed of BBC Middle East Bureau Chief Paul Danahar, who is stationed in Gaza City, leaves no doubt that Hamas claims responsibility for the attack.

Danahar seems to suggest that Israel had fair warning of such an attack by Hamas. His only comment on the bombing is: “#Hamas had warned in the first few hours after Jabari assassination that they would not just respond with rockets from #Gaza into #Israel.” Danahar has no comments about Hamas or its goals and tactics.

Hamas is a genocidal terrorist organization. Doesn’t Danahar have any quibbles with its murderous fanaticism, its tactics or its tyranny? Not so far as I can tell. It’s the world according to the BBC.

According to Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, Israel itself is a terrorist state. Erdogan is of course Barack Obama’s BFF in the Middle East. What does the Obama administration have to say about Erdogan’s contribution to the public discourse?

On Monday AP reporter Matthew Lee grilled State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland on precisely this question. Can we set this guy loose in the White House press pool to cover the Benghazi story? In any event, this really is must viewing.
