Full of Ifill

PBS NewsHour anchor/editor Gwen Ifill tweeted her comment on Barbara Mikulski’s announcement that she would cast the thirty-fourth vote to sustain Obama’s anticipated veto of probable congressional disapproval of the Iran deal yesterday (below).

Ms. Ifill isn’t owning up; she denies that the tweet expresses her point of view. She explained to PBS Ombudsman Michael Getler and others that she was “RT’ing a @TheIranDeal tweet” and added that she “should have been clearer that it was their argument, not mine.” She hasn’t claimed that she misquoted herself, but she’s getting there.

Ifill has badly embarrassed her fellow Democrats at PBS. Getler is not amused. I should think that Getler’s discomfort gives voice to the feelings of a number of Ifill’s colleagues.

James O’Keefe had to go undercover to get the kind of stuff that Ifill herself has thrown directly into the public domain. Ifill has given us a direct view into her deep thoughts as a cheerleader for Obama and his unsavory causes.
