Jeannette Walls of MSNBC reveals that the Dixie Chicks recently dodged a bullet when they posed for a PETA ad–one of those “I’d rather go naked than wear fur” posters. The Chicks apparently are staunch animal-rights supporters, but their management got wind of the ad and nixed it, fearing that “some of their fans were rifle-toting, Bambi-shooting types who would take offense at an anti-fur, pro-animal message.” Well, yeah, that’s a good point. The ad never ran, but never fear, Power Line has it:
The moral, I guess, is that the Chicks really are boneheads who, until now, have been saved by their managers from making fools of themselves. Too bad.
