The site formerly known as Twitter covers a lot of news that you won’t easily find anywhere else, if at all. When it comes to the Hamas-Israel conflict, most of it is of the heartbreaking or infuriating variety. The tweet below, for example, falls into both categories — “Hamas Negotiators have reportedly told International Meditators in Cairo that it has No Ability to Release the 40 Hostages in the Humanitarian Category (Women, Children, and Elderly) that were included in yesterday’s Ceasefire Proposal because out of the 136 Hostages that remain in the Gaza Strip, a Significant number are now believed to be Dead.”
Hamas thinks it has so much US support that months into negotiations it can say – "those girls and kids we have been talking about, sorry we tortured and starved and raped them to death, what's next on the agenda?" – and get away with it. I pray they are wrong. https://t.co/iEkvVzCQUY

Not in either of those categories is the emergence of Canadian opposition leader Pierre Poilievre as a voice of moral clarity (video below). We have to learn his name. We also have to learn how to pronounce it. Even if he puts in a token word in favor of a two-state solution, I hope we will be hearing more from him.
John first took note of Poilievre (also via X) in “A politician for our time.” You can say that again.
There’s one politician who has been unwavering in his support for Canadian Jews and Jews period since October 7th.
His name is Pierre Poilievre, and he’s going to be the next Prime Minister of Canada.
